Where gone those days
When we would be imbibing the moonlight
Playing by the sunshine
Feeling warmth of those crackling flames
By the fireside
On cold winter nights
Singing carols on Christmas Eve
Believing almost in everything…
I remember, I remember…
Nostalgia is painful at times
Though the memories I cherish are fond
I remember, I remember
My then days at school
When rain clouds would accumulate in the sky scape
And it would be a rainy day
I remember my then pals at school
The bond of friendship so securely established
Alas ! Now so suddenly ruptured
By the tides of destiny
Life is like a mighty ocean
With waves surging and then receding
Memoirs are like those crests and troughs
Of the countless waves
Sailing past this ocean
We carry with us these memoirs
Yes, nostalgia this is…
The waves of thought keep on rolling
In this ocean of life
And what if all this suddenly stops ?
Life would come to a standstill
We would perish simply
Into the void ness of death
And what happens then to these memoirs ?
I know not
Yet I believe in life and living
I believe in keeping alive my reminiscences
The memories that they are
Coz day by day I find my way
Cherishing those memoirs
This is reminiscence, my friend …
